Triumph Stag

The Triumph Stag came factory-equipped with 5.5-inch wide steel wheels in either 14-inch or 15-inch diameters, depending on the year and market. Early models typically rolled on 14x5.5" steel wheels with hubcaps, while later versions got 15x5.5" wheels that looked a bit more proportional to the car's sporty lines. All Stags used a 4x4.25" bolt pattern (4x108mm), which was shared with other British Leyland products of the era. The factory offset was typically around +20mm, giving the car a fairly conservative stance that prioritized practicality over aggressive looks.

For VTO Wheels compatibility, our 4x108mm bolt pattern options will bolt right up to your Stag, with sizes ranging from our 14x5.5" and 14x6" for that period-correct look, up to 15x6", 15x6.5", 15x7", or even 16x7" if you want to go slightly more modern. The extra width options like our 15x7" really fill out those wheel wells nicely while maintaining that vintage aluminum aesthetic. Our offset range from -7mm to +38mm gives you plenty of flexibility to dial in the perfect stance.

The Stag was Triumph's ambitious attempt at a luxury GT convertible, powered by their own V8 engine rather than the Rover unit used in other British cars. Despite its relatively short production run and some reliability quirks, it's become a beloved classic that perfectly captures the spirit of 1970s British motoring. The combination of Italian-influenced Michelotti styling, V8 power, and that distinctive T-bar roof setup makes it one of the most recognizable classics on the road today.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question Answer
What bolt pattern does the Triumph Stag use? The Triumph Stag uses a 4x108mm (4x4.25") bolt pattern throughout its production run from 1971-1977. VTO Wheels offers this exact bolt pattern in our vintage aluminum wheel lineup, so our wheels will bolt directly to your Stag without any adapters needed.
What VTO Wheels sizes fit my Triumph Stag? For stock replacement, our 14x5.5" and 15x6" wheels match the factory diameter and give you slightly more width. Popular upgrades include 15x6.5", 15x7", and 16x7" for a more aggressive look while maintaining vintage proportions. All of these are available in our 4x108mm bolt pattern.
Do I need hub-centric rings for VTO Wheels on my Stag? Most likely yes - the Triumph Stag has a center bore around 63.4mm, while our wheels typically have a larger center bore to accommodate multiple vehicle applications. We can provide the correct hub-centric rings to ensure a perfect fit and eliminate any vibration issues.
What offset should I choose for my Triumph Stag? Factory offset was around +20mm, so anywhere from +15mm to +25mm in our range will give you a near-stock appearance. For a slightly more aggressive stance, try +10mm to +15mm. VTO Wheels offers offsets from -7mm to +38mm, so you have plenty of options to achieve your desired look.
